Clinton invites Gujral to participate in AIDS meet
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI
APRIL 19.
The former United States President, Bill Clinton, has invited the former Prime Minister, I.K. Gujral, to participate in the forthcoming international conference on AIDS at Barcelona and lend his leadership to the fight against the dreaded disease.
Mr. Clinton, who chairs the International AIDS Trust along with former South African President, Nelson Mandela, has specifically invited Mr. Gujral to be a part of the special leadership session for current and former Heads of States being organised as part of the conference.
Noting that for the first time ever, the conference would add a focus on international political action and commitment, Mr. Clinton has, in his invitation, asked Mr. Gujral to "give the great gift of your leadership to the fight (against AIDS)''.
