Grant for children in relief camps

NEW DELHI APRIL 19. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has sanctioned Rs.83.15 lakhs to the Gujarat Government for setting up 1,109 Educational Activity Camps for the 27,715 children living in relief camps in eight affected districts.

The Educational Activity Camps will be set up under the Education Guarantee Scheme and Innovative Education Programme of the Central Government in relief camps in Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Kheda, Vadodara and Dahod.

The aid is aimed at helping the State with its plans to provide children with recreational facilities and a "congenial educational environment'' in the camps.
