HYDERABAD: The Congress-I launched a ten-day "Jana Chaitanya Yatra" at the district level on Saturday as part of its agitational programme against the steep hike in power tariff and other decisions affecting various sections of the society. The APCC-I president, M. Satyanarayana Rao, participated in a programme organised by the Ranga Reddy DCC at Kukatpally to mark the launch of the yatras. He exhorted the partymen to educate the people on the nine issues identified by the PCC which include the abnormal increase in the property taxes, the closure or sale of the Public Sector Undertakings, the farmers problems and irregularities in Food for Work programme. DCC president K.M.Pratap presided. In the districts, the DCC presidents, MLAs and other prominent party leaders participated in Jana Chaitanya Yatras. In the city, the City Congress president M. Anjan Kumar Yadav, participated in a relay hunder strike at Charminar as part of the Sadbhavana Yatra demanding ouster of the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi.
