In a recent appeal, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu asked partymen and others not to organise programmes or visit him to offer greetings as he desired to make it a low-key affair and treat it as just another day. Mr. Naidu took off for a surprise visit to Medak district early today and on return fulfilled scheduled engagements, including a courtesy call at his residence by the Union Minister for Energy, Suresh Prabhu. He did not go to the Secretariat. The Scheduled Caste cell of the Telugu Desam organised a blood donation camp at the NTR Bhavan to mark the event. B. Narasimhulu, president, said 300 people participated in the camp, including Immani Rajeswari, A.K. Gangadhar, State Secretaries, G. Goverdhan, ex-MLA, D. Srisailam, D. Sankara Naidu and Bucchilingam. A team led by Ravulapalli Suneetha and other leaders from the State party office distributed sweets, playthings and clothes to the inmates of the ashram for street-children in Rashtrapathi Road in Secunderabad.
