During the drive, the MCH spent Rs.30 lakhs and deployed 7,430 lorries for clearing debris in the twin cities.

Mr. Krishna Reddy expressed happiness that the HUDA had bagged the Green City Award for 2002 and hoped that the MCH would get the Clean City Award this year also. Mrs. Chitra Ramachandran said the MCH was able to clear the debris thanks to the people's cooperation. The levy of penalty during the drive was a message to the people to develop civic sense.
