Maoists bomb Minister's house

KATHMANDU APRIL 20. Maoist rebels today exploded a powerful bomb at the village house of Nepal's Finance Minister, Ramsharan Mahat, even as security forces gunned down 10 terrorists across the country, official sources here said.

The Minister's house at Kavilas of Nuwakot district was attacked early this morning, a highly placed Home Ministry source said, adding that the house developed cracks due to the explosion but no one was injured.

Mahat was not at home during the explosion.

On Thursday, ultras hurled several petrol bombs at the residence of his younger brother, Prakash Mahat, who is also the political advisor of the Prime Minister. _ PTI
