By B. Muralidhar Reddy
In an interview to the newspaper group, Jang Gen. Musharraf said that on account of the mobilisation of forces on the borders the situation was `dangerous' and urged India to de-escalate the tensions. He saw very `little softness in the Indian intentions' and there was no change in the concentration of their forces on the borders. ``They think I will become stronger, hence, their designs against me. But they would never succeed.'' Indians, he said, were definitely worried over the government in Pakistan getting stronger. In response to a question on Washington's role to defuse Indo-Pak. tensions, Gen. Musharraf said, ``the U.S. always deals with Pakistan and India diplomatically without giving any warning or threat.'' It was not dictating terms to either country.
