Assam
Bandh affected normal life in the Bodo-dominated Lower Assam districts of Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon, Darrang, parts of Barpeta and Nalbari districts. Educational institutions, commercial establishments, offices, banks and others remained closed as the day was Sunday while vehicles remained off the roads in these districts. Life in the other districts of the State remained unaffected. Train and air services operated on schedule. Meanwhile, security in the Lower Assam districts have been beefed up on the occasion of the bandh with patrolling intensified. The bandh has been called by the students' body to protest against the killing of its education secretary, Khwamkhawmbang Boro, on April 18. PTI
