French presidential poll in Pondy

Pondicherry April 21. French nationals who had registered themselves as voters at the French Consulate here went to the first round of French presidential polls today.

The poll began at 8 a.m. on the premises of the Consul General office near the seashore.

There were 3775 voters within the jurisdiction of the Consul General office in Pondicherry, a former French colony.

Special shamianas were erected outside the premises to shade voters from the scorching sun.
