`No change in TDP stand on Gujarat'

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD April 21. There will be no change in the Telugu Desam Party's stand when Parliament meets tomorrow in demanding the resignation of the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, for his failure to control communal violence in the State.

The TDP, a partner in the ruling National Democratic Alliance, will insist on a discussion on the issue though not under Rule 184 as demanded by the Congress and other Opposition parties, the TDP Parliamentary Party leader, K. Yerran Naidu, said here today.

Mr. Naidu and the party's floor leader in the Rajya Sabha, Alladi P. Raj Kumar, held an hour-long meeting with the TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, who had asked them to come to Hyderabad to discuss the political developments in New Delhi and the party's strategy for the future. Dismissing the possibility of the TDP revising its stand on the Modi issue, he said the party MPs had been raising the demand for Mr. Modi's ouster in both the Houses everyday since the Parliament session resumed last Monday.
