Bopanna-Vijay pair bows out

NEW DELHI APRIL 21. The third-seeded Rohan Bopanna and Vijay Kannan pair lost 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 3-6 to Evgueni Smirnov of Russia and Jasper Smit of the Netherlands in the semifnals of the $10,000 ITF Futures tennis tournament in Kuwait.

Bopanna and Vijay had enjoyed a good string of success during the three Futures tournaments in Sri Lanka and India earlier, when they won two titles from three finals.

The duo will have a chance to strike better form in the second tournament next week, after which it may shift its focus to the four-week Satellite circuit in India.
