Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Special Correspondent
The violation of the admission schedule, as laid down in the GO issued in 1987, was detected by an inspection committee, headed by P.Ramakrishna Reddy, regional inspection officer (RIO), which visited many colleges in Kukatpally, Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Narayanaguda and Dilsukhnagar areas. The committee closed down the above two colleges and ordered stop of admissions and the conduct of classes till the Board's schedule is announced. The committee seized the admission application forms, sale receipt books from the two colleges and submitted the same to the Commissioner and Secretary, BIE along with a report. The RIO warned the private colleges not to violate the admission rules which would attract disciplinary action which includes disaffiliation and cancellation of admissions. The Board secretary constituted 10 inspection squads for twin cities and Ranga Reddy district. Our Staff Reporter from Vijayawada writes: The Intermediate Board issued `disaffiliation' notices on three colleges in Vijayawada for selling applications for junior intermediate courses ahead of schedule. Action has been initiated against the three residential colleges having branches all over the state after the board officials conducted raids here on Sunday. Officials sealed rooms of the colleges in which applications for junior intermediate courses were being sold in violation of the admission schedule announced by the board. The Intermediate board Joint Secretary, Harikisan, and Deputy Secretary, Tirumala Rao, went incognito and purchased applications and brochures from Srichaitanya, Nalanda and Geetanjali Residential Colleges. Addressing a press conference, the board officials showed newspersons the applications for Junior Intermediate course of the three residential colleges purchased by them. The officials said raids would be conducted on the institutions conducting classes in the guise of EAMCET coaching and bridge courses.
