Ethiraj Trophy and the Arasan Kalyanasundari Ammal Guruswamy Trophy held at the Hotel Sri Rama's auditorium on Sunday.

The toughest match of the day was between two Chennai-based players, R. Siddarth and R. Ashwath, and it was the luck of the draw that forced such top players to meet in the first round itself.
