Lorry driver arrested for kidnapping girl

BANGALORE APRIL 21. The Talaghatapura Police in Bangalore Rural District have arrested a lorry driver on charges of kidnapping, marrying, and raping a minor girl.

The name of the accused has been given as Nanjappa (27), a resident of Navagalupalya. Nanjappa, who is married and has two children, lured a 15-year-old girl to marry him.

On April 1, when the girl was returning home after writing her SSLC examinations, Nanjappa stopped her near Kaggalipura Gate and took her in a car to Dharmasthala and married her, police said.
