CISF to guard Taj Mahal

NEW DELHI APRIL 23. The Supreme Court today directed the Uttar Pradesh Government to hand over from May 1 the security of the Taj Mahal in Agra to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

A Bench comprising Justice M.B. Shah and Justice H.K. Sema gave this direction after hearing counsel for the Archaeological Survey of India and the Uttar Pradesh Government, which had no objection to handing over the security to the CISF.
