Bill Gates in court

Washington April 23. The Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates, is expected to make more court appearances here to defend his company in its anti-trust battle, as a U.S. judge resumes the hearings today that could lead to a hefty penalty for the firm.

In his first appearance on Monday, Mr. Gates told U.S. District Judge, Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, that a proposed remedy from a group of States would "cripple" the company. — PTI
