This hacker has a different message

By K. Srinivas Reddy

HYDERABAD April 27. Defacing websites is no more confined to posting whatever the hacker wanted to say. This time the Anti India Crew (AIC), one of the prolific hacking group targeting Indian websites, has defaced a government site and dedicated it to Ankit Fadia, the teenage hacker from Delhi, who shot to fame with his book — `The unofficial guide to ethical hacking'.

The government site, epfindia.gov.in, defaced on Friday continued to display the derisive material on Mr. Fadia posted on its homepage by the AIC and another hacker group WFD. It was taken off the server on Saturday afternoon and the URL now only returns a 404 error message.

Though the hackers did not use any abusive language to deride Mr. Fadia, the intention appears to belittle the young hacker for eavesdropping on a chat room being used by Pakistani hackers planning to attack an Indian website. Mr. Fadia, according to the AIC, had recorded a copy of the chat transcript and mailed it to a U.S. spy agency, which in turn pulled down the site to be targeted and uploaded it again with anti-cracking software.
