Congress encouraging jehadis: VHP

Mumbai April 27. Strongly backing the Narendra Modi Government in Gujarat, under attack for its handling of the communal violence there, the VHP today accused the Congress of ``encouraging jehadis in the State with an eye over power at the Centre''.

Charging that the Congress was ``fomenting trouble'' in Gujarat, the VHP International general secretary, Pravin Togadia, told presspersons here that ``every incident in Gujarat was backed by Congress workers, including party corporators, who were responsible for not even allowing students to appear for examinations''.

He alleged that Congress activists were closely working with ``jehadis'' in Gujarat and were unable to fathom the consequences of their act. — PTI
