Sir, The Prime Minister has said that whatever happened in Gujarat is a shame and a crime. But the BJP says it is a reaction to Godhra. And the Congress says Godhra is insignificant to what is happening now. The truth is Indians are killing Indians. And the politicians are substituting Indians with community and making it look like a communal issue and not a human tragedy. All are fighting over numbers and not the remedial measures. Communal harmony and peace are alien to politicians and will make life difficult for them as they have to then address the real issues that face the country. If people come to terms with reality, they will sort out the issue themselves. And when peace prevails, politicians will find another problem or create one to fight over. K. Ramanathan, Chennai
