The missile which carries a 200 kg conventional warhead, was launched from a container at 11.05 a.m. in clear weather, official sources said. The product of an Indo-Russian joint venture, the eight- metre Brahmos can be carried aboard a ship or submarine and with some modifications, on an aircraft. Launched from a ship, the missile can fly up to a height of 14 km at twice the speed of sound, sources said.
