Arti finishes joint 29th

NEW DELHI APRIL 28. The poor sequence of scores of a set of Indian shooters continued, as Arti Singh came up with a below par 59 in finishing joint 29th with two others in the women's skeet event of the World Cup in Shanghai.

Arti had rounds of 18, 19 and 22 in the 75-bird preliminary phase in a field of 33 shooters.

She had managed to take the fourth slot in a field of six shooters in Sydney the previous week, again with a not too impressive score.

Overall, it has been a miserable run for Arti Singh who had done well to take the fourth slot in a competitive field in Lonato last year, when she beat the Olympic champion. That effort had helped Arti make the prestigious World Cup finals, but the Delhi girl has not struck such form so far this season, despite the guidance from coach Juan Giha of Peru.

The results: women's skeet: 1. Andrea Stranovska (Svk) (25, 22, 25; 21) 93; 2. Zhenru Chen (Chn) (24, 22, 24; 22) 92; 3. Natalia Rahman (Aus) (25, 22, 24; 20) 91; 29T. Arti Singh (18, 19, 22) 59.
