Sir, Imtiaz Ahmad in his article `Is Islam really jehadi?' says Islam is more pluralist than what people know. He says the Godhra incident happened because the majority community was seeking a dominant role. Which is the majority community he and a host of others assume exists in India? Hindus? Surely, they do not form a group, theologically or otherwise united to pursue any earthly goals. They have always epitomised plurality. The Indian intelligentsia has made a mess of socialism and secularism. It is because of the unwisdom of the "opinion-makers" that many Indians, Hindus and Muslims, are migrating out of this country. It is not "politically correct" to speak of the wrongs such groups commit but that they are always the wronged ones. T.K. Krishnamurthy, Chennai
