`Indictment of Sonia Gandhi'

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI MAY 1. The Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy, today said the defeat of the motion on Gujarat in the Lok Sabha was a ``resounding indictment'' of the Leader of the Opposition, Sonia Gandhi.

In a statement, he said Ms. Gandhi had failed to unite the Opposition. ``In fact, her unbecoming imperiousness and lack of moral authority because of the 1999 fiasco had worked to drive many in the Opposition to abstain from voting for the motion rather than be on her side,'' he added.
