Letters to the Editor
Sir, Our politicians have proved that they can not rise above petty politics. They talk about scoring political victories and seeing cracks developing among political parties, but choose not to see the gaping divide growing on religious and caste lines in the fabric of our motherland. They talk of rehabilitation and religious unity but don't have the unity to show their solidarity and go on a peace march on the same day. Instead of wasting the taxpayers' money by creating pandemonium in Parliament, let groups of MPs take turns to visit Gujarat to spread the message of amity and supervise relief and rehabilitation. S. Janaki, Chennai
