Palestinian shot in church

BETHLEHEM MAY 4 .A Palestinian gunman was shot dead today by an Israeli sniper inside the besieged Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.

Israeli military sources said that the Palestinian, ``a highly wanted terrorist,'' was evacuated to an Israeli hospital after a quick round of negotiations with Palestinian officials. The gunman died in the hospital, said Israeli officials, who refused to reveal his identity.
