Sir, This is with reference to the letter `Lessons from history' by K.R. Manohara (May 1). It is not the opinion of the political analysts and individuals that the current riots in Gujarat cancel the 1984 anti -Sikh riots, the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. It is to recognise the fact that the politicians who are expressing concern over the Gujarat developments were totally indifferent to those incidents. The actions and statements of Opposition parties indicate that they are utilising the riots as an opportunity to blame the Government rather than finding a solution.
