Sir, The article, `Living with the new world order', by Chinmaya R. Gharekhan (May 2) has valuable advice not only for India but also other developing countries such as Indonesia, especially when the author mentions the importance of being pragmatic, calculating and almost cynical in the conduct of foreign policy in the changing world order. But Mr. Gharekhan's statement that Indonesia should fight the Abu Sayyaf is not correct since that group is based in the Philippines. Indonesia needs the support of other countries in strengthening the foundation of democratic governance, professionalism of the armed forces and for its struggle out of the economic crisis.
