120 killed in Nepal

Kathmandu May 8. Over 100 Nepalese security personnel and 20 rebels were killed in a Maoist attack on an army post last night in Gam village of Rolpa district, police said here today. Out of 200 army and police personnel deployed in the area, 120 were missing, they said.

The incident occurred when the rebels attacked the joint patrol teams of the security forces. Twenty Maoist rebels were killed in another encounter in Chainpur, 400 km east of Kathmandu.
