Sir, It is good that the Opposition parties did not embark on another misadventure by deciding to contest for the Speaker's post after two consecutive defeats while passing the POTA Bill and the censure motion on the Gujarat carnage. The Opposition did not believe in opposing for the sake of "opposition", but avoided the contest under the guise of parliamentary convention that the Speaker's post was earmarked for the ruling party.
