Focus on preventive medicine

NEW DELHI MAY 10. The Indian Association of Physiotherapist (Delhi) has announced its 7th annual conference that will begin at the FICCI auditorium here on Sunday, May 12. The one-day conference is likely to be attended by 300 delegates from various hospitals, clinics and nursing homes across Delhi. The theme of the conference is `Preventive Medicine' in health care.

Senior physiotherapist at Parliament House Annexe and organising member of the conference, Dr. Ghosh said, "This conference will bring awareness among the patients as well as other medical professionals about how and why a patient develops disability. It has been noticed that if a patient is brought to the doctor well in time, 80 per cent of his disability can be prevented. It is this information that we want to impart to every one possible.''

Besides the conference, the participants can also take part in the exhibition which will showcase various latest physiotherapy equipments and tools used to treat the patients.
