MCD portfolios reallocated

NEW DELHI MAY 10. In a major step aimed at streamlining the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) administration and bringing in optimum level of efficiency, the Municipal Commissioner, Rakesh Mehta, has reallocated different departments and zones among the Additional Commissioners.

The Additional Commissioner (Education), H.B. Sharma, will look after the Education Department, Directorate of Inquiries, Languages Department, Public Premises Department, C&C Section and ADC (zones), Central Uniform Cell and Labour Welfare Department. Besides, Mr. Sharma will also supervise Shahdara (South) and Shahdara (North) zones.

The Additional Commissioner (Engineering), V.S. Sharma, will look after Engineering, Town Planning, Architect, Central Establishment and Horticulture Departments besides supervising Najafgarh and West zones.

Similarly, the Additional Commissioner (Health), Anand Prakash, will look after Health, Planning and Monitoring, Organisation & Methods, Election Office and Community Services Departments. He will also supervise the functioning of City, Karol Bagh and Sadar Paharganj zones.

The Additional Commissioner (Headquarters), Ramesh Negi, besides looking after Sanitation, Caretaker, Press & Information, Veterinary Departments will also supervise Civil Lines, Rohini and Narela zones.

Similarly, Y.D. Bankata, who has recently joined the MCD as Additional Commissioner (Revenue) will look after Land & Estate, Advertisement, Factory Licensing and Toll Tax Departments, and Remunerative Project, Central Licensing and Enforcement Cells, besides supervising South and Central zones. The Additional Commissioner (Slum & JJ), Manjeet Singh, will continue to look after the Slum & JJ Department.
