'Ritu Singh died due to strangulation'

NEW DELHI MAY 10. The post-mortem conducted on the body of Ritu Singh, daughter of senior Congress leader Natwar Singh, has confirmed that she died due to strangulation and choking, police sources said here today.

A three-member doctors' team which conducted the post-mortem at the Safdarjung Hospital said the death had occurred due to ``asphyxia and cerebral congestion caused in ante-mortal hanging by ligature'', the sources said.

Meanwhile, her mortal remains were consigned to flames at the Lodhi crematorium today. — PTI
