``I have no wish to enter into a controversy with Mr. Ganguly or any one else,'' Mr. Sinha said when asked to comment on reports that the cricketer planned to sue him over his recent statement in Parliament. ``There are two things: one, I had got up in the Rajya Sabha and said the function of the Department of Income Tax is to collect taxes and not to defame people,'' Mr. Sinha said in an interview here on the sidelines of the Asian Development Bank annual meeting. ``Two, whatever we say in Parliament is privileged and no defamation rises on what you say in there.'' According to media reports, Mr. Ganguly is likely to file a defamation suit against Mr. Sinha for listing him among the tax defaulters, though he has been regularly paying his income tax. PTI
