LS to discuss Bihar package

NEW DELHI MAY 14. A short duration discussion on a financial package for Bihar is expected to take place in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. This was decided at a Business Advisory Committee meeting on Monday. The Government wanted two days of the remaining three days (excluding Friday when private member bills are taken up) to be reserved for legislative business, which was agreed, and the Government agreed to the demand that the long-pending Bihar financial package be discussed on the third day. The package was promised to Bihar to make up for the loss of revenue as a result of the carving out of Jharkhand from the State.
