Finance Bill gets President's nod

NEW DELHI MAY 14. The President, K. R. Narayanan, has given his assent to the Finance Bill, 2002, and the Act has come into force with immediate effect. The Finance Act, 2002, seeks to give effect to all the amendments effected in direct and indirect taxes laws to provide for new taxes, concessions, relaxations and subsidies for the current financial year, stated an official release.
