Letters to the Editor
Sir, Millions of Sri Lankans are grateful to the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, and his Cabinet and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, for extending the ban on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam for another two years. It is encouraging to note that the prudent Indian Government has not forgotten the LTTE's role in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. The Centre and the Tamil Nadu Government should nip in the bud small terrorist groups before they become a real threat with the support of the LTTE. Malin Abeyatunge, Melbourne, Australia
