Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Action needed

Sir, — The terrorist attack in Jammu on army soldiers and their families is heinous. One cannot fight terror by just making vociferous statements forever. We should match words with deeds. What is the point in keeping the soldiers as sitting ducks in Kashmir?

After each terrorist attack, border posts in PoK must be destroyed. Artillery fire from these posts provides cover for militants to infiltrate into India.

U.S. policy-makers and the rest of the world are convinced that violence in Kashmir is aided by military and logistical support from Pakistan.

We should be able to handle any fallout diplomatically. After all, our track record shows that we have never fought any wars in the past to expand our borders.

Nagaraj S. Turaiyur,

Nashua, U.S.
