The Public Works Minister, M.K. Muneer, and the Education Minister, Nalakath Soopy, will inaugurate the new block in the Civil Station and the Kudumbasree Mahila Maholsavam respectively. Aryadan Mohammed, MLA, will preside over the function. The inauguration of various development projects will be held on the occasion. These include the observation home of the Social Welfare Department, Web site of the district, Kottakkunnu Community Hall, information scheme for the Scheduled Tribes, and the like. The schemes will be opened by the MLAs, E.T. Mohammed Basheer, Kutty Ahmed Kutty, A.P. Anil Kumar and P.K. Abdurab. The MLAs, K.N.A. Khader and Manjalamkuzhi Ali, the district panchayat president, M. Ummer, the municipal chairperson, C.H. Jameela, among others will be present on the occasion. The anniversary celebrations in Kozhikode district will be inaugurated by the Health Minister, P. Sankaran, at the Town Hall on May 18. A. Sujanapal, MLA, will preside. A comprehensive welfare scheme for Adivasis in the district will be inaugurated on the occasion. Distribution of title deeds, housing assistance, handing over of keys of houses completed, etc. will be done on the occasion. The District Collector has said that there will be week-long inauguration of welfare schemes in the district from May 17. The Public Relations Department is organising an exhibition in association with the Health Department at the Town Hall from May 18 to 21. On May 22, a cooperative society's mechanised coir unit will be opened at Mukkom by the Forest Minister, K. Sudhakaran.
