Centres to help students during admission

NEW DELHI MAY 16. The Delhi University will be setting up 16 information centres to help students during the upcoming admission season. With the application forms for admission to various colleges all set to begin from June 5, Delhi University has this year made some special provisions to make the process simpler for students.

A special two-day orientation programme will be organised for SC/ST candidates on June 3 and June 4. To be held at the Sir Shanker Lal Concert Hall of Delhi University, the sessions will be one hour long and will give students information relating to availability of seats, medium of instruction, combination of subjects and courses available among other issues.

The first admission list will be announced by colleges on June 26, while the second and third lists will be announced on July 1 and July 5 respectively. The fourth list, if necessary, will be announced by selective colleges on July 11.

The admission procedure for admission to the non-formal education cell and the School of Correspondence courses and continuing education will be on between June 26 and October 31. As far as the non-collegiate women education board is concerned, the general category of candidates can avail of their information handbooks on June 9, 16, 23 and 30 at teaching centres and at the Board's office from June 10 to 28. The first cut-off point would be announced on July 6.

The application forms for SC/ST students will be available on June 9, 16, 23 and June 30. Selected candidates will be enrolled after payment of fees on July 7, 8, 13 and 14.
