By Our Staff Reporter
The draft regulation will now be placed before the Academic Council for further discussions. The university appealed to the Government to sanction fresh courses in various arts and science college with a view to effectively utilising the services of the teaching staff who were in excess, consequent to the delinking of the pre-degree courses from the university. A resolution to this effect was passed unanimously in today's Syndicate. A high power committee would be set up to conduct a need-based study for sanctioning colleges and courses in areas that come under the jurisdiction of the university. The meeting also decided that there would be special sittings of the Syndicate on June 17 and 18 to discuss the report of the Padma Ramachandran Committee.
