The Additional Commissioner of Police, A.K. Khan, addressing a press conference said three country-made revolvers, 29 live cartridges, a sword, a dagger, three cellphones, three electric detonators and literature of Left ideology were recovered. While four members -- Kadari Babu Rao (35) of Raghunathpally in Warangal, Katepu Kakkaiah (30) of Abdullapur village in Kurnool, Kona Surya Prakash Patrudu (25) of Gouripatnam in Visakhapatnam and Kommu Murali Krishna (22) -- were arrested, another accused person, Adikmet Raju (22) of Hyderabad, was at large. Mr. Khan said Babu Rao was a former PWG militant. He worked with the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi for some time and came out due to differences with its leaders. Kakkaiah also worked for the MRPS and later joined hands with Babu Rao. They gave Rs. 25,000 to Surya Prakash and sent him to Uttar Pradesh for purchasing weapons.
Three more arrested
Commissioner's Task Force (West) sleuths, with the assistance of the Marredpally police, on Thursday nabbed three pseudo naxalites while extorting money from a person in West Marredpally. Venkat Reddy of Repala in Nalgonda, Srinivasa Reddy of Vijayawada and Narayana Reddy of Warangal were remanded in judicial custody. The accused persons threatened owner of an educational institution on telephone and demanded Rs. 5 lakhs claiming themselves as naxalites. The police laid a trap and nabbed them.
