6 Akali activists shot

Amritsar May 19. Six Akali Dal activists, including a contestant in the last Punjab Assembly polls, were shot dead by some unidentified persons at Bhikhiwind area of the district today, police said.

The incident took place when the former candidate, Gurdial Singh, and other activists were on their way here from Patti.

An Akali acitivist and a passer-by were seriously injured in the firing.
