SC refuses to pass order

New Delhi May 20 .The Supreme Court today refused to pass any order on a plea by the People's Union for Democratic Rights (PUDR) seeking a direction to the Gujarat Government not to close the 90-odd relief camps being operated for the riot-affected people.

A vacation Bench comprising Justice N. Santosh Hegde and Justice S. N. Variava, while posting the PUDR application for hearing along with other pending matters after vacation, suggested that the petitioners in case of urgency could approach the Gujarat High Court where related matters were pending.

The petitioner said the pending matters related only to seven camps in Ahmedabad but there were around 98 camps run across the State. — PTI
