Blast kills two children

Tehri (Uttaranchal) May 20 .Two children were killed and three others injured today when a bomb went off inside some bushes at new Tehri town, police said.

A group of children, aged between five and 10, were playing near a hotel when the explosion occurred in an empty plot, causing tension in the area. Senior police and district administrative officials have reached the spot and are investigating the incident which police suspect might be the handiwork of terrorists. A 12-volt battery and some pieces of a timer device have been recovered. — PTI
