Himachal Pradesh
Taking exception to the ``misleading'' statement of state Congress President Vidya Stokes, published in a section of the press, regarding the MoUs, he said the latter had done so for undue political mileage. ``Such statement by a senior Congress leader is unfortunate as this creates uncertainty in the minds of investors, which is not in the interest of the state,'' he said yesterday. Mr Dhumal said the government had ensured that a share was allotted to the state by power-producing companies during the winter months from October to March every year when water level in all rivers receded which caused less power generation. He said earlier power was being purchased from other states at a much higher rate. Mr Dhumal said it was for the first time that condition of employment of engineers, class III and IV employees was laid in the MoUs. -- UNI
