Announcing the launch of an agitation programme while addressing the Collectorate march here on Monday to protest against the `cheating' of farmers by the Antony Government, the national chairman of Infam, Fr. Mathew Vadakkemuri, said that the Antony Government was protecting those who were plundering the agriculture sector and in turn were harassing the farmers. The farmers would unite to come forward against corruption and the Infam would lead the stir. There had been no action against those who had plundered Rs. 125 crores in the procurement of copra. When the farmers pointed this out, the procurement process had been disturbed as if to harass the farmers. It was also not fair to charge high registration fees for land. The Infam national vice-president, Moideen Haji, the organiser, Fr. Chacko Edayal, and Joseph Thuruvelil were among those who spoke on the occasion. Farmers and their family members from various parts of the district participated in the march which began from Vidyarthi Corner here.
