Mr. Sankaran said the CCC noted the anxiety of various sections and the media that the PWG had not responded to the Government invitation for talks by May 20, the deadline set by the Government. "In view of the complexity of the problem, there can be no deadline or last date fixed for such negotiations. There is no need at all for any apprehension, as the overall situation has turned more favourable for talks,'' he said. The CCC said, "Although all suggestions given by the Committee have not been fully adopted by the Government, in actual practice, there have been no encounters.
