The trustees of the temple, which is a few centuries old, priests, and hundreds of devotees had gathered at the temple premises since morning, and tension mounted when news of the decision of the Muzrai Department spread. Officials of the Muzrai Department, who arrived at the temple on Tuesday to conduct a survey of the premises, sought police protection. However, police claimed that there was no tension. They said the Muzrai Department officials had gone to the temple for conducting a survey, and that they had completed the work.
