`Frequent power cuts likely'

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE MAY 21. The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL) has announced that "frequent and unexpected" power cuts are likely during the initial period of the monsoon.

According to a KPTCL release issued here on Tuesday, disruption in power supply is likely due to strong winds, which may cause uprooting of trees and snapping of electricity cables.

The staff concerned have been asked to be on high alert during the monsoon, and make sincere efforts to restore power supply without delay, the release has said.
