According to the TAMIN Chairman and Managing Director, N. Govindan, the State-owned undertaking initiated action jointly with the Department of Geology and Mining to evaluate the quality and reserves of quartz and feldspars for explorations. In a press release here, he said the scope of exploring molybdenum for making rockets and missiles was also in progress. The TAMIN achieved a sales turnover of Rs. 67.05 crores during 2001-02 and posted a net profit of Rs. 7.46 crores, which was a 133 per cent increase over the previous financial year. For the current fiscal, it expects a turnover of Rs. 100 crores and a profit before tax of Rs. 20 crores.
